FAQ and Sizing

1. Sizing- Not all nails are the same size. To find your size you can:

     A. Order a sizing kit for $5 plus shipping and when you receive those nails you can try them on your fingers and place your order and you will forever know your sizes in our nails. Instructions are on the sizing kit. This is the easiest way! Please write your measurements in the box "special order instructions" at checkout.

     B. You can measure your nails in millimeters across the widest part of your nail bed. I recommend to take a piece of tape, dental floss, or string lay it across the widest part of your nail bed and mark it with a pen at each side wall making sure it is taunt. Take the piece off and measure it in millimeters. Please measure each nail on each hand as you may have different sizes. I will take your measurements and correlate them to the correct sizes in the length and shape of nail you choose. Please write your measurements in the box "special order instructions" at checkout.

C. The quarter method. After ordering, send me pictures with your nails on a flat surface and a quarter beside them. The angle of your camera must be from directly overhead. Take separate thumb pictures so that the thumb is flat and the rest of the fingers from a fist. Quarter must be in all pictures near your nails so that I can blow up the pictures on my end to the same size of an actual quarter and fit your nails that way.

D. We are doing away with sized 10 pieces sets and doing all 20-28 pieces sets. So if it says "one size fits most" that means you get two of every size.

Incorrect measurements can be replaced at a $7 charge per wrong nail. Please measure carefully.

2. What is included with the nails?

Each nail set comes with a "prep pack" which includes: file, buffer, orange wood stick/ cuticle pusher, alcohol wipe, nail glue, and nail sticky tabs.

3. How many times can I reuse my nails?

You can get about 5-8 wears out of your nails depending on how gentle or rough you are with your hands.

4. How do I reuse my hands if I used glue?

To reuse your nails after using glue take the file or buffer whichever is easier for you and gently buff or file away the glue on the under side of the nails.

If you use press on nails frequently I would suggest in purchasing a cheap e file on Amazon. Using an e file is the easiest way to remove the glue.

5. How do I apply the nails?

A sheet of directions is sent in each package, but should you lose it, here are the steps.

     A. Push back cuticles with orange wood stick and gentle scrape any particles off the nails.

     B. Use the file and file the edge of your nail until it is shorter than the nail that goes on it.

     C. Using the buffer, etch the top of your nails gently to rough up the surface slightly. This makes for better adhesion.

     D. Take the alcohol pad and wipe each nail well to make sure all dust is off from filing and to remove any oils on the nailbed.

     E. To apply with glue: Do one nail at a time. Apply a small amount of glue inside the press on nail to where it would cover your nailbed from side to side and cuticle to tip. Too much glue can make it hard to adhere. Take the press-on nail and press it onto your nail from cuticle to edge and hold for 20 seconds or until it feels firm. Repeat for all ten nails.

    F. To apply with sticky tabs: Do one nail at a time. Find which tab fits your finger best and apply it to your nail and remove the film after securing it to the nail. Take the press on nail and place it from cuticle to edge.

6. How do I remove my nails?

Do this same process whether you have glued the nails down or used sticky tabs.

Take cuticle oil or olive oil and place around the cuticle. Get a bowl of water as hot as you can stand it with dish soap in it and soak your nails for ten minutes. Then take the cuticle pusher/orange wood stick and try to gently pop of the nail. If it does not immediately come off, soak again for five minutes until nail loosens and is able to come off. It may take several rounds of soaking depending on the adhesion and length of time the nails have been on. Trying to remove nails before a week that have been glued on can result in damage to your nail beds.

7. How do I keep my nails on?

I recommend keeping your hands out of water as much as possible. Use gloves when doing dishes or laundry. Do not use your nails to press buttons but instead use your knuckles. Do not use your nails to open items like soda cans, boxes, envelopes, etc. Do not pick at your nails. Do not push on the free edge of the nail or it could cause lifting.

8. I scratched my nail, so what to I do?

You can apply a fresh layer of top coat to give them their shine back and fill in any scratches that may have happened during wear.

9. What if I lose a nail?

I can remake single nails at a $7 charge per nail.

10. What is Dawn's Pick?

Dawn's Pick is a set of nails that will go with your designed set that is normal polish or glitter polish, no design. The color will be picked by me but I promise it will be beautiful and go with the set so that you can swap out nails as you please.

Dawn's Pick costs $12 and make it easy to mix and match.

11. What types of press on nails do you use?

I use Apres nails and Young Nails depending on the shape. I find them to be of high quality.

12. How long will the nails last per wear?

Typically if good prep is done, and protective measures are taken, a set of glued nails will last 10-14 days. A set of nails applied with sticky tabs can last 1-4 days.
